Now let's have a look at the sixth of the core-7 albums, Every Good Boy Deserves Favour. Released in 1971, this album's title is a play on the musical scale, but contains a deeper meaning as well. Like its predecessors, it contains a treasure-trove of inspired lyrics.
As with all the Moody Blues' core-7 albums, this one has a theme which we are invited to share with the band and also to individualize, personalize and interpret in our own way. For me, EGBDF seemed to be about progressions, both on the level of mankind's evolution and the one we make as individuals.
The album's cover is the thing that first enchanted me and drew me into the music of the band. I can truly say I became a fan because I was so enamored of this artwork and then found that the music the album contained was even more enchanting. I was hooked!
My favorite lyrics from this album are:
From One More Time to Live: Solution!
From The Story in Your Eyes: Listen to the tide slowly turning, wash all our heartaches away. We're part of the fire that is burning and from the ashes we can build another day.
From Our Guessing Game: There are times when I think I've found the truth, there are times when I know that I'm wrong, and the days when I try to hide my fears, bless the days when I'm feeling strong
Now, please share your favorite lyrics from Every Good Boy Deserves Favour. There are no rules that you need to follow. As is the case with interpreting their music, It's Up To You! Express yourself in your own way in celebration of the beautiful poetry contained on this album.
