This time, we did sign for the VIP registration, so, we'll see if it's worth the additional amenities. One of the things I did like about it is we're guaranteed seats in the first three rows for the Moody Blues concert on board, so, that'll be nice.

We love the way this latest Moodies Cruise is shaping up! Today we welcome two old friends and one new one…let’s get started with round three of our Talent Announcements for the 2018 Moodies Cruise aboard the incredible Celebrity Eclipse!!
Jefferson Airplane founding member Paul Kantner created this Moodies Cruise band with that collective spirit in mind and carried it with him throughout his life.
Kantner knew that combining powerful creative
forces, personalities and talents could create something far greater
than the sum of its parts. Between 1974 and 1984, this band released eight gold and platinum selling albums, twenty hit singles, sold out concerts worldwide and lived out legendary rock and roll escapades. Some of their biggest hits included, Count on Me, Miracles, Jane and Find Your Way Back, however, they continued to play homage to the mothership, including hits like White Rabbit, Somebody to Love, Wooden Ships, Volunteers and many more!
Today's band remains dedicated to breathing new life into the living catalog of the Jefferson Airplane legacy, going to the edge, pushing the sonic boundaries and staying true to the original spirit of the music, on and off stage.
Co-founder David Freiberg also started another Fillmore - era San Francisco band, Quicksilver Messenger Service, who often shared the bill with the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane. David is a world-class singer, producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He was also a member of Jefferson Airplane, and co-wrote one of this band's all-time biggest hits, Jane – which he sings. David is the band's Buddha and guru. If you get into the same room with David, you will be blessed.
The band tours extensively, bringing the spirit of the Jefferson Airplane legacy to life everywhere they travel. In 2014-15, the band played a series of free concerts for America's Veterans and was
awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the US Department of
Defense. In 2018, this band will carry the history of this long-running
Rock band aboard the Moodies Cruise…we can’t wait to see them!
The Moodies Cruise Welcome...
This next Moodies Cruise band is like family to us and by poulular demand are returning in 2018! Paying tribute to the 60's and 70's with truly authentic renditions of some of the genre's greatest songs, Moodies’ fans love their energy and fun spirit.
While other tribute bands just play the music, this band goes the extra mile to capture all the hey-man-peace-and-love-grooviness
of the songs that helped define a decade. With fanatic attention to
detail, the members of the band do all they can to get inside the songs
This attention to the essence of the music – as well as dazzling
arrangements, outrageous costumes and groovy video visuals – results in
not just a show, but a full-on, far-out experience of an era gone by.
So c'mon down for a trip back in time! Those days may be over, but thanks to our good friend, David Cooper, the music -- and the spirit -- live on.
Always a Fan Favorite, We Welcome, Once Again...
Our next Moodies Cruise band is one of our favorites!
It all began in 1970, when four young musicians from the South Bay of
Los Angeles, came together to create a new, invigorating style of music.
Exploring the possibilities of progressive, classical and world influences, yet rooted with the soul of the blues and R&B, Joseph Puerta, Christopher North, David Pack and Burleigh Drummond created a new sound that represented a new vision.
The band chose their name to represent the fusion of their music: all
shades, textures, colors and styles. Their initial musical influences,
like many of their generation, came from the Beach Boys and The Beatles. Their combination of symphonic art rock and a slick pop sound resulted in a unique style quickly embraced by fans.
Originally labeled as America’s answer to the progressive invasion of such English acts as Yes and King Crimson,
the group quickly proved it was all that and much more as it’s albums
painted aural landscapes covering the gamut of musical styles and
attracting the collaboration of such cultural icons as, Leonard Bernstein, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. and, most notably, Alan Parsons.
Alan Parsons played a major role in the band's success, engineering their first album. He also produced their second album Somewhere I've Never Travelled, considered by many to be the band’s most notable album. Parsons was nominated for Grammys for both albums. The connection with Alan Parsons continued as the all four members of the band played on the first Alan Parsons Project album, Tales of Mystery and Imagination.
In their recording history, the band garnered 5 Grammy Nominations, 5 Hit Singles, Heavy FM Airplay and the admiration and respect of the musical community. All this was in addition to Sold Out concerts around the world.

My spider sense is telling me that the Zombies won't be added, but I've been wrong before. I would be in heaven if Donovan was added... guess we'll see. I wonder how sales are going .... numbers fascinate me...

Our first Moodies Cruise artist is an English guitar player and touring musician, hailed as one of the world’s finest and most creative modern fingerstyle performers. He can seamlessly replicate a full band on a single instrument, completely live…Bass, harmony, melody and percussion.
His acclaimed solo music has gained over 10 million hits on popular
video sharing sites, but this gentleman is not considered a “YouTube
Act”. Since the release of his debut album in April 2013, he has toured
almost every continent on the planet numerous times, bringing his hyper
technical, yet intrinsically musical instrumental performance to tens of
He has recorded with, sessioned for and even taught multiple Grammy award-wining artists, appeared on film and TV soundtracks, released apps, transcribed for international music magazines and was featured on Justin Hayward’s live DVD, entering the Billboard charts at #2.
He regularly tours as Justin’s lead guitar player, performing Moody Blues classics throughout the USA, Canada and beyond. Countless additional high profile musicians including Steve Vai, Gotye and James Valentine (Maroon 5) have all spoken of their admiration towards his work.
His ability to create the most unusual tones and textures from an
acoustic guitar leaves fellow musicians stunned. Many of you have seen
him perform with Justin and now he joins us for the 2018 Moodies Cruise!

The Moodies Cruise Welcome...
Our final Moodies Cruise artist announced today is a rock pioneer and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Considered a rock music innovator and superb vocalist, he is a founding member of Buffalo Springfield, Poco, and SHF.
In 1967, this gentleman moved to L.A. to meet up with his close friend Stephen Stills. The two young musicians soon connected with Neil Young, Bruce Palmer, and Dewey Martin. The five would join together to form Buffalo Springfield. The group produced three great albums and a legacy of excellence in the Classic Rock music world.
While recording the last album with new member Jim Messina (of Loggins and Messina), our special Artist and Jim Messina discovered they shared the same unique musical direction and the band Poco was born.
Poco was an innovative direction in music that
achieved great critical and commercial success. The band cut some of
the first and best country rock music of the sixties and seventies.
Members of Poco represented a rock music all-star list including Jim
Messina, Randy Meisner (of The Eagles), Rusty Young, George Grantham,
Paul Cotton, and Timothy B. Schmit (of The Eagles as well).
Finally, in 1974, this artist joined Chris Hillman (of the Byrds) and J.D. Souther to form The SHF Band. After two albums with SHF, our Moodies Artist pursued his own solo career, which is still alive and thriving today!
His band is currently touring the country, performing from his extensive
catalog of memorable rock hits. His fabulous live show spans his rich
musical history and recreates some of the rock icon’s best work…now on display for fans of The Moody Blues!
a true rock legend...
