I've played in orchestras for many years. I think Graeme did a solid job, and had a nice clear beat. There is more to conducting than just beating time, but as a guest conductor, with probably very little influence over the orchestra (to be absolutely honest, orchestral musicians don't always take a lot of input from a guest conductor!), he got them through the Pines of Rome by Respighi very competently.   He even threw a few good cues,  which demonstrated how much he understood the music.

I was surprised that he had a score with him. It is very rare for drummers to read pitch notation, much less a full score. Well done Graeme!
