The America concert last night was excellent - much better than expected by all of us (Sue & I and my friends who sat next to us).

If you like the hits, they pretty much played them all (no "Muskrat Love"... but that's fine).  They started with "Tin Man," "You Can Do Magic" and a classic early song that I love called "Old Man Took."  I think "Don't Cross the River" was next.  They only play one song from their most recent (2007) album, and, only three others from their post 1975 albums, the aforementioned "You Can Do Magic" plus "The Border" and their cover of "California Dreamin'" (all great songs!)  In the middle of the show, they played the 1st side of their debut album, which was really nice.  They "finished" with "Sister Golden Hair," then played some bluesy song as the 1st song of their encore before really finishing with "Horse with No Name."  I was cursing the inclusion of the unknown blues tune, because they could have easily slotted in "All My Life."  But it wasn't to be.

They definitely did not disappoint.  Gerry & Dewey were very casual and engaging.  They claimed they've done 100 shows per year for the last 40 years, so I hope I can see them again soon.
