The Moody Blues?  I've heard of them.  Paul Evans?  Never heard of him.
Last Rolling Stone I read was in college... I quit reading it when I quit smoking pot.  lol  Maybe there is a connection.  It also makes me think that Mr. Evans is high on something...  like himself.

The long running fans of the Moodies -- those who remember the times and what was going on in the world when the core seven came out -- know exactly how off base Evans is in his criticism.  Furthermore, the uplifting spiritual messages of a lot of the core seven songs is lost on some people, and apparently Evans is one of them.  Finally, who is he to say that R&R is only what he defines it to be?  That it the height of crass egotism.

After the last round of inductees at the RRHOF, I went to the web site and looked at who have been admitted over the past few years.  There are some good inductees (and some real turkeys), but if you look, note that most of them haven't done what the Moodies have done in their careers.  Do the Moodies belong?  Sure.  But why should they be concerned about it, given the attitudes of the people on the committee who vote.  After all, I doubt that Jann Wenner feels differently than Paul Evans... oh, maybe that's it:  Evans is just sucking up to his boss!  Looking for a raise!  Actually, he is probably just repeating what Wenner has said privately, but doesn't have the cojones to say publically.

From Wikipedia: "Wenner has endured quite a bit of controversy during his career, as it relates to his involvement in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Fans and supporters of several artists, which include Chicago, Deep Purple, Kiss, The Monkees, Electric Light Orchestra, Yes, Jethro Tull, Linda Ronstadt, The Miracles, The Marvelettes, Mary Wells, [1] The B-52s, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Rush,[14] The Guess Who, Bachman–Turner Overdrive and The Moody Blues,[15] have placed a large amount of blame on Wenner for keeping them out of the Hall of Fame. They claim Wenner has lobbied to keep them from consideration and nomination to the Hall based on personal bias and a dislike for their music."

Look who is on the list!  The Moodies are in great company!  lol  As long as these people (Wenner & Co.) are in charge -- instead of real musicians -- don't expect the RRHOF to be anything other than what it is:  the personal playground for a small group of self-serving and egotistical wanna-bes.
