2009-11 Question of the Month |

If you were performing on stage with the Moody Blues, what would your role be? Would you play an instrument? If so, which instrument(s)? Would you do any
vocals? What other contributions might you make?

Well, personally i wouldn't want to ruin their sound!
I have figured out how to get that cool 'icepop' sound at the beginning of Talking Out of Turn on the keyboard, so I would like to play that and then sing backup/harmony to Jus and John. Maybe a little guitar part here or there but nothing flashy. Oh, and I'd do the jig with Norda Mullen too
Just a silly joke... M |

Well, in 8th grade I played in the school orchestra. But since there were already two other pianists, on any given piece of music two of the three of us would
be sent back to the percussion section to help out.
So given my vast experience and expertise, I could serve as Gordy's assistant, playing whatever special sound effects he needed--cowbells, triangles, cymbals, washboards--you name it!

Personally I'd LOVE to be Justin's guitar Tech.. No I don't know the first thing about guitar's but a gal can dream right? Other then that a
back up singer or Justin's personal Hairdresser. LOL
P.S. Oh and as a side note I'd also love to be the merchandise Gal that gets to travel with the band wherever they go. sigh

Vocals. Classic Moodies had 4 male voices. One more in the mix now couldn't hurt.
Oh... and cow bell, of course.

After years and years of painstaking research, I've not seen the Moodies tour with a 3rd chair clarinet player, so I'll try out for that other male
harmony voice that jimnsue4ever doesn't take.

I could do some interpretative dancing in front of the screen behind the boys. Why, I might even get into a bit of go-go dancing for the faster songs. But I
promise to not open my mouth and sing--leaving that the other volunteers here.

They could use some more male voices. Go for it, Jim and Lang! As far as me, I'd love to do some of the special effects with the lights and computers,
but I'd probably only qualify to fix them sandwiches.

Do you think they could use a rusty violin player?
Probably not.
Think I'll have to settle for being a roadie and just lugging the equipment around!

Hey, you bring up an interesting point.
There could be some violin/cello players for an acoustic tour! |

I toured with my college choir, so I was thinking I could help sing backup. But my voice isn't quite as good as it used to be, so I think I'll play
handbells.

There's only one thing I would like to do and this is revealing something about myself. Ready? One of my fantasies is that I win a contest where your
wish is granted. And my wish is to sing *NIWS* with Justin. And, gee, I win the contest. So I am flown to London, all expenses paid, where I get to meet the
band, and at first, I am so shy (which I really am) and I sort of sing on a separate microphone in a lower voice. But then, wouldn't you know it, the
second mic breaks and I'm forced to use Justin's mic and we sing the song together, looking into each other's eyes the whole time and at full
voice. Afterward, he invites me back to his apartment to hear some new songs he's written. And the rest, as they say, is history............
So to answer the question of the month, I'd like to
sing NIWS with Justin, just once, just to fulfill my fantasy, or at least the beginning of it.
Arline in Florida <--------------you should hear some of my others!!!!!

MoodyJill wrote: I'm pretty confident I could handle most rhythm guitar past and any fingerstyle leads that would be needed. The biggest problem I'd have would be to remain calm. I'm used to performing but onlybefore small groups and doing solo classical guitar works. Playing with a band would be much harder, especially a band I think is great.

Back up singer, baby! That's always been my fantasy job. I sang back up in my car for enough years to their music, I have all the harmonies down!
