With the launching of the official website www.elo.biz earlier this month, 2010 is looking like a "comeback" year for ELO / Jeff Lynne.
Jeff's 2nd solo album is supposed to be released this year, 20 years after his "Armchair Theatre" album. It has also been reported that Lynne is working on a few ELO re-releases for 2010, possibly including a solo album of re-recorded ELO hits.
Although "Livin' Thing" drove me crazy (not in a good way) in the Winter of 1976-77, I became an ELO fan in 1978, after my brother bought the double-LP "Out of the Blue" featuring the hits, "Turn to Stone," "Mr. Blue Sky" and "Sweet Talkin' Woman."
I subsequently bought every ELO album as they were released, as well as all the earlier albums plus some of Jeff Lynne's prior recordings with The Move and the Idle Race. Along with his collaboration with rock & roll legends in the Traveling Wilburys, Lynne has also produced many other acts, including his fellow Wilburys George Harrison, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty, as well as Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Dave Edmunds and Del Shannon to name a few.
I only saw ELO in concert once - in 1981 on the "Time" tour. I hope Lynne will tour in support of his new releases.
Just to get this thread started....
