My mother passed away this week. She was 89 years old and lived a long and good life. I am an only child and my father died when I was only 20 so it had been me and my mom for a lot of years. She was a great lady. She loved flower gardening and won a number of city beautification awards over the years. She loved to go to concerts (like mother like daughter I guess). Her favoite was Vince Gill . I took her to see the Moodies a couple of times years ago. John was her favorite. She said Justin was too serious and did not move around enough. She also loved the interplay between Ray and Bias in LOAM. She loved dogs but had not had one of her own for a number of years--concerns about dog getting underfoot and tripping her. She considered my dog to be part hers (which he was). When I was at her house he was always with me. When she was in the hospital this time, and realized that she was much weaker. She decided she had enough and she wanted to go home and see Mickey, my dog one more time. I was not able to get her home but was able to have her transferred to the Hospice of Dayton where Mickey could see her. She died peacefully early Monday morning.
